McGuire Maritime brings years of hands-on experience in the industry. We are well placed to pair with any organisation in the industry to create, develop and deliver training as required.
JC PENNEY
McGuire Maritime has over a decade of experience in delivering introductory and advanced shipping courses to shore-based staff. These courses enable shore staff to understand and effectively communicate with the marine side of their business, improving overall business efficiency. An example of this is our delivery of safe mooring courses to the staff of LNG terminals in Queensland.
Maintaining the highest level of safety during marine activities is fundamental to the needs of a business. We develop bespoke courses around rigid risk assessments and best practice in the industry, ensuring that personnel are executing particular activities to the highest level of safety.
“Over the last 7 years Chris has provided AMC Search with invaluable services to deliver our education program nationally and internationally. As a practical mariner, Chris has delivered courses on our behalf on a variety of topics. Behind the scenes Chris is a critical link in our new and online course development program, ensuring AMC Search remains at the forefront of Maritime Education. We retain the service of McGuire Maritime as our principal external maritime expert.”
CEO AMC SEARCH
Ensuring that your staff and crews are appropriately trained and educated is essential. The shipping industry is a unique industry with its own unique operating environment. As a result there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach to training employees. Each organisation will have distinctive requirements when it comes to the development of educational programs for both new and existing staff.
McGuire Maritime provides educational services to AMC Search, the consulting arm of the Australian Maritime College. Under this contract our main work is as subject matter experts for the transfer of courses onto digital learning platforms.
Our activities include writing course notes, moderating existing course notes to ensure they are appropriate for online learning, and developing online content that is engaging for the student.
The majority of courses are defined by and are required to meet the requirements of international standards, which are in turn checked by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) before the course is released online.
We also deliver courses either at the AMC or on the site of clients.
